Minor League Update: Bullington Solid In Start for Buffalo

Buffalo split a double-header last night against Richmond. They had some excellent pitching, yet didn’t get a lot of offense.

Bryan Bullington had an encouraging outing in the first game. He only pitched five innings, but he only threw around 50 pitches. He gave up one run on three hits and a walk and struck out four. JD Martin earned the win with three innings of relief allowing just one hit. The first baseman in Michael Aubrey and Jordan Brown knocked in the runs and Aubrey went 2-3.

David Huff had a similar outing in game two. He too went five innings, giving up just one run. He was the tough luck loser as the Herd offense got shut out.

Stephen Head had a solo home run in Akron’s 3-1 loss. Tony Sipp gave up two more runs and took the loss.

Another big offensive night for Kinston has put the K-Tribe in the lead for first. Another Head was doing the damage, this time it was Jerad Head with two RBIs. Jason Denham went 1-1 with three walks and a RBI.

Mahoning Valley picks up another win behind Doug Pickens and his first home run of the year. Lonnie Chisenhall went 2-5 with an RBI. Eric Berger pitched five solid shutout innings to earn his second win.

Rob Bryson for the Captains gave up three unearned in the Captains loss. Tony Lastroia has a piece on Bryson and how he’s fitting in with his new organization.
