Pile On Friends, Pile On

This was the introductory beatdown that is required when you trade away your star Ace.

I’m going to pull the plug on Jeremy Sowers and Brian Slocum right now.

The club wants to find out about them.. Well they found out about them.

Stick a fork in em.. They are both futureless on this team. Ship Up Ship Em OUT.

Jhonny Peralta goes deep and there you have it, the Tigers pile on our wounds and just keep digging at them.

We got Casey Frickin Blake in the third spot..

Awwwful.

Minor League Update: Closers Picking Up Saves

Zach Jackson will be heading to Buffalo for now… He could get a big league audition this year, but I wouldn’t be expecting Jeff Weaver to be starting in our rotation for very long. He could be a bridge till Fausto comes back and then just be released. Jackson has been added to the 40 man roster. He is taking Jeff Harris’ spot on the Buffalo Roster.

Buffalo scored 8 runs last night to beat Syracuse. Asdrubal Cabrera knocked in a run and went 2-5. Randy Newsome picked up his first save as a Bison.

Speaking of picking up their first save… Luis Perdomo has gotten his first with Akron after the Aeros defeated Binghamton once again. Wyatt Toregas went deep AGAIN. He was also named Player of the Week after he went deep three times in one game.

Akron will usher in the Matt LaPorta era tonight as he gets the start in left-field. He will be conducting a presser from the home dugout before the game for the media.

Josh Tomlin for Kinston won the Carolina League Pitcher of the Week last week. This week it was Future’s Game Pitcher Hector Rondon who won it.

The Captains are back to .500! Let’s see if they can turn it on after a 9-2 win over Hickory. The 3-4-5-6-7 hitters all knocked in all the runs while Kelvin De La Cruz pitched 5 innings of 1 run ball. Dallas Cawiezell was placed ont he DL and Ron Rivas came off it.

Very good day for the Indians minor league teams as Mahoning Valley scored 8 runs as well. PJ Zocchi picked up his first win of the year by pitching 5 inning yielding just one run.

Great stuff at Minor League Happenings about Nick Weglarz. I really love Weglarz and apparantly he is close to getting hot.
