Tribe Designate Joe Borowski

Wow.. Color me shocked that the Indians have outright designated Jumpin Joe.

I still think we might be able to reach a trade for Joe Borowski, even if it’s just for a player to be named later. I mean someone out there will still want some sort of bullpen help.

Obviously Rick Bauer isn’t going to get you much, someone will eventually pick him up and send him to the minor leagues. He will not be sent back to Buffalo if he clears waivers.

I’d expect the Indians to be able to trade Joe. I’m really shocked that they didn’t just demote him and pitch him as a occasional arm and get his value up as a middle reliever.

Brian Slocum and Jensen Lewis will both be called up.. I’m going to assume sooner or later Jeff Stevens will find his way up here as well. They might want him to get a few more saves under his belt after he struggled lately.

Minor League Update: Hodges To Future Game

Akron finally lost last night and they actually got shutout against Erie. They’ve been laying a smacking on the Erie pitching staff until last night.

There is much better news out of Akron though. Wes Hodges has been named to the MLB Futures game! He will play for the USA Team against his fellow Indian organization member Hector Rondon.

More good news from Akron.. Obviously Randy Newsome can’t compete in the Double A All Star Game because he’s now in Buffalo. So to take his spot on the roster, the Eastern League have selected Scott Roehl.

Tony Sipp pitched a perfect inning with two punchouts yesterday. Like I said, he will be up to Buffalo rather quickly, especially if some Buffalo relievers are sent up to Cleveland(could be as soon as today).

Acording to Tony Lastoria, Dan Cevette, K-Tribe reliever has retired.

Of Course, It is Friday, so you might want to check out the Minor League Happenings. Chisenhall, Hodges, Crowe, Rondon, Cabrera, Perdomo, are all discussed.

No Morning Update, Happy 4th!
